This week’s strips have looked especially nice, lots of fun directorial choices on Joe’s part.

Sprocket isn’t a very nice hostess, although she did offer Kandi popcorn.

Are Kandi’s “Candies” actually candies? Maybe they’re candy-cane-shaped pens.

Sprocket is awfully grouchy whenever Kandi is around. At least she was nice enough to offer some popcorn before harshly objecting to Kandi’s recommendation to fix up the run-down theatre. It’s pretty hard to make small talk with Sprocket.

@AnyFace: We’ve definitely seen KandiKane with a candy-cane-shaped pen before, so it’s quite possible that that’s what she has in her mouth all the time. I never thought about that before, but it’s certainly possible.

Considering Kandy’s sisters date some pretty heavy-duty crime fighters, the Nitrates better watch their step. Another comic cross-over in the works?

We’ve been wondering why Silver and Sprocket always wear shades. Panel three may give us a hint. Sprocket’s shades don’t have ear-pieces! Maybe they are some kind of cyborg implant.

Yawn ! This has got to be the long Calm before the Big Storm ? . . .

It’s been a whole MONTH now . . . of slow build ups, and inconsequential ‘nothing’ events, like visiting another town for a comic sale, a peep at Winly Funkerbeen, and an update on a growing Little Attitude, a mini family feud by Gerti, and Kandikane riding her motocycle The only ‘sharp edge’ has come (sadly?) “Off Camera” that knife work on Blowtop by Stiletta !

Something BIG must be on the cards ! ?

Kandikane is not just the sweet little semi-innocent thing that her looks suggest. She is shorter than barefoot and shaded Sprocket, but she is, I suspect, a bulldog if it comes down to hand-to-hand combat. If Silver doesn’t hasten along, we may see a war of cold glances and sharp words turn hot very quickly….

Stilldamatt, youre 3 for 3.. keep it up and MAYBE some certain someone might actually begin to LIKE you! lo!

is it awful of me to hope that Kandikane ends up facedown at the bottom of the popcorn popper?

For some reason ths chick just rubs me the wrong way… i havent liked her since she first showed up “all those years ago”

They have always lived in “theaters” Hmmmmm?

Y’all remember Kandi has the film of a commercial that Silver wants. So they can’t feed her to Lena just quite yet.

This is getting good! That why I said the stories in this stripas well as Gasoline Alley and Alley Oop are moving along just great! Can’t say the same for 9 Chickweed Lane, Pibgorn, or Endtown. Their storylines are like pulling teeth!

Probably just me, but something is amiss here.The last time we saw Sprocket and Kandi together, Sprocket tried to intimidate Kandi, and she did manage to fluster Kandi. Now we see them again, and Kandi (with the dark shading of her face and arched eyebrow)…Kandi is showing no fear, and apparently non-plussed at Sprocket’s insult ("We appreciate them as they are, UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE!)A past history between the two? One, a restorer and lover of classics, and the other, modern-loving filmmaker?

@Chris Sherlock: a very good point although it would more exciting if they fed Blowtop or Stilleta to Lena.
