    @Mytly

    Mytly commented on Calvin and Hobbes yesterday What’s Calvin’s problem? Just let Susie go first into the house and get ambushed by Hobbes!

    -There you go Mytly, he’s following your advice.

    But won’t Hobbes decide to be the gentleman because Suzie is a guest? ..

    Hobbes only appears alive to Calvin. To Susie he’ll only be a stuffed toy.

    There was a show once I watched when I was a kid. At the end they said “Come back again tomorrow – same time, same station” – and I did. Just in time to hear “Come back again tomorrow – same time, same station.” They never did start the show at that time, and finally I gave up. ;-)

    Hobbes is the complete gentleman that Calvin cannot even imagine being. He and Susie have a relationship based on mutual respect and understanding. He will, of course, be polite and solicitous, and will likely offer her a nice cup of tea.

    Hobbes effects are certainly noticable: Susie: I don’t know what’s weirder, that you’re fighting a stuffed animal or that you seem to be losing…

    Mom: How’d you get so dirty? Did you get in a fight at school? Calvin: I got this dirty coming in the door. Ol rocket butt was lying in wait for me.
