Sheesh. What’s wrong with putting a sweater on, instead of turning the heat up?!!

I’m surprised Eddie’s cat isn’t hairless, that close to so much heat…….

I thought Flo meant Eddy when she said she was firing up the old pot-bellied stove, then asked him a question.

gaijinrabbit, I got it. So I’ll engage……I’ll defend Maine….(Parts of it are very pretty….Nope, never been there, but every place has a cool area somewhere…Right?) Maine is beautiful state with inspiring people…It’s the snooty people in New Hampshire and the Hippies in Vermont that are the problem….Although, those places are kinda pretty, too…BTW, my lawyer said to add “Just kidding….”

gaijinrabbit, Midwesterner do have an accent and it is kind of flat….But the most notable characteristic is that we clip words… We toss out vowels and consonants with equal abandon… Or we turn one vowel into two..Two examples…..Look at the cute little ki-en….School is a two vowel word in the Midwest. Pronounced schooowell….Another one….Giving? No way! It’s I’m givin’ somebody somethin’…..We don’t seem to have a use for the “g” because it’s just way to long to say a full “ing”…Peple say we are very clipped and don’t actually open our mouth much to say words…And we talk too fast, I guess…

Not all Midwesterners sound alike: we Kansas Citians can always spot a St. Louisite (which is something like a parasite….) right off. Meanwhile, most of us sound something like this: “I’m thinkin’ and wonderin’ but I don’t git what a fur is fer. I don’t git what a fir is fer. Fer what is a fur er a fir?”
