I read somewhere that hatters’ stereotypical eccentric behavior was because of poisioning from mercury, which was in chemicals used in the manufacture of hats.

He makes more sense than Rush. I can understand the terrorists’ philosophy. I don’t agree with it, but I understand it.

I don’t understand Rush. Or Coulter. Or several other “Conservative” commentators.

In that case, you must not have brain damage, a sub-standard education, a weak mind or a history of bigotry.

Now we know where Glenn Beck gets his ideas from for the TEA Bagger’s Party! When he says he’s Mad - it’s not the Angry kind of “Mad”… just saying he “foams at the mouth” too much when he gets on a rant…✌

The only thing that separates Glenn Beck from the average street-crazy is a shower. And I’m not too sure about that, either.

I don’t care as much about Bin Laden, but you’re being straight out rude to Rush and Glenn for no reason. Congratulations.

Hey, it was Rush who said that passing the health bill set off Eyjafjallajökull. If that’s not mad as a hatter, I don’t know what is. Ah, that fulminate of mercury!

I figure I have 15 to 20 left and I plan to enjoy them the best I can and try to be affected as little as possible by whatever all the crazy extremists care to do. I have a great family though, and I worry for them…

Some people have trouble telling an entertainer from a spokesperson. Rush is an uneducated radio announcer who found a niche. He’s a paid performer, much like the bubble headed bleach blonde who reads your weather. He has some strange ideas or is it just what’s fed to him to say. Do you blame the weather bimbo cause she’s wrong? No she was paid to say that. He is paid to say that.

What’s wrong with Rush? I mean, “Tom Sawyer” is a classic!

Oh… wrong Rush. Sorry, Canadian here.

And they’re braking up the Republican support base, so you can’t say they’re all bad. Must have been formed by Perot on an off moment.

I think the original idea was to grab up the independents who keep helping the bigger dem party win elections in small states and break the “coalition” , but they are getting carried away with the polemics that alienated the independents to begin with and assuming they are all Fox News junkies being mind warped as well.

Back to “State of the Union”? At least the posters here are much more civilized. Must be all the British accents.

People who want the federal government to finally start obeying its Constitutional restraints and have copied the age-old left-wing tactic of protest rallies, minus the rioting, to express their displeasure are clearly as great a danger as Al Qaeda. I guess dissent isn’t the highest form of patriotism anymore.

$Trillion annual deficits. Monetizing the debt. Spending that makes W look like a model of fiscal restraint. No reason to freak out here. This isn’t the big-budget sequel to President Carter. Trust The One.

A lot of what Rush says is satire. Why don’t you listen to him instead left wing commentators who want to misrepresent him and misquote him. Only an idiot would actually believe that he really thinks health control caused a volcano to blow. Must be that stuff “edcole” said about left wingers above, at least it matches them better.

Whether or not Rush and others are performers the big problem is that people listen and believe their lies. And when these right wing people didn’t get their way on the health care bill they got violent and threatening. Then they send threatening and nasty messages to congresspeople? People like this who cannot see the grey area and only the black and white are just like al queda, its our way or no way and then we will intimidate and attack if you don’t agree. This is the problem with closed mindedness, Pab has it right!

So opposing a government take-over of health care is the same as opposing health care?

That’s like the people who claim that if there were no public schools, there’d be no schools…or roads or passenger trains or bus service or any of hundreds of other things that used to be overwhelmingly private but which have been taken over by government, often in my lifetime.

But what else should I expect from a Canadian?
