Obviously, he’s referring to the Status of Forces Agreement signed by Geo. W. Bush with Iraq shortly before having shoes thrown at his head. Of course, Obama should have overridden Bush, the republicans would have been eternally grateful.
When we defeated Japan and Germany, we did not ask them how long we could stay. Pacifying a bellicose state is not accomplished by merely removing the leadership – it takes a generation of applied control. We gave it five years before new leadership declared our intention to cut and run. Now we will have to start over – not because we would choose to do so, but because we have to, for self-preservation.

Nothing wrong with blowing up ISIS. Obama’s “drones of death” campaign is one of the few things he’s gotten right.

I think the inference is we did the Iraq war right (questionable position at best) but it spawn ISIS due to the excessive length of the occupation.
