The dittos can make sounds now?!?! Did I miss something?

Now that’s a genuine case of someone being beside themself…or Phil’s seeing double! Either way, Monday’s strip is going to be exciting.

What a thing to ask for!

After a couple years of reading this strip, I’m still amazed at how many subtle emotions Aaron can convey in his panels. How does one draw a bewildered lizard? It’s so much fun to read Endtown.

I confess my favorite strips in this “comic” are almost always the wordless ones! (Or like this one, where the words are practically just an accessory.)

Well either the speaking is a faux pas on Aaron’s part.The Dittoe’s are evolving.Or maybe they can Ditto current sounds but can not make there own?

Maybe these dittos are the Reptile-town dittos and they’ve figured out a way to make sounds? And perhaps they dislike the reptilians so they’ve decided to help the Endtowners?

But it’s also plausible that the dittos are either just copying Wally’s movements so Phil can’t tell where the sound is originating from, or the dittos have created a camouflaged sound-reflecting surface so Wally’s voice is being reflected from the region of ditto-Wally. At that range, the sound lag would be negligible and humans (even mutated) wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Now if the dittos could create two Wally decoys and camouflage Wally so he can’t be seen, it would be even better protection.

If the dittos can read thoughts and bring out night/daymares, does this mean Phil’s nightmare is 2 Wallys?

Marx’s airship’s AI was made up of dittos and was able to talk. Wally’s dittos had been attached to it, or previous generations had been, so they could know how to talk from then.

You know if a cat cloned itself and then demanded I kill it, I would probably go to the hospital and get tested for something.

Y’know, guys, we don’t know that Duplicate Wally is made up of dittoes…

This was nothing like what I expected. The fight hasn’t gone the way Phil thought either. The ditto Wally could be Jim, he has more reason than most to hate lizards.I like what MacEwanMouse said. I would be wondering about my sanity.Phil may be wondering what’s wrong with Him.

I love all of Wally’s expressions. He is one cute kitty. And by cute I mean ferociously cute.

Just notice that the lizard is wearing shoes. Has any one seen any other with shoes?Maybe Holly also mice have long feet. I couldn’t see her feet to know if they are dark on the bottom of her feet or that she manage wearing rels long Flats/

People have mentioned that the dittos and Jim might be assimilated into each other. We don’t know what dittos eat, or if they do at all. Maybe that’s how Jim disappeared. Lizardtown dittos were evidently kept in a secure location until they somehow connected with Wally’s Dittos. They didn’t appear in the walls until they escaped, which is why Chic never saw them before. There’s not much possibility that anyone else is living behind the walls for the same reason. Besides, no one’s touched the Twinkies.

TSOJ: Thank you for the old strip. It gives opportunity for newbies to see a little of Captain Flask and hopefully spike their interest in the early stories (Buy the books! I did, even after reading the e-strips).

On the one hand, MAN am I happy that Wally didn’t have to endure a brutal beatdown before having something come to his rescue (though he may still have to take one before this is over). But on the other hand, something tells me this is gonna make escaping the colony a helluva lot harder, cuz after this fight there’s gonna be cries of foul play and the audience is gonna be gunning for Wally’s blood. Not that that wouldn’t have happened if his rescue had come through more subtle means, but with it being this obvious, it seems like an inevitability.

Also, another y’know…if this twin-Wally is a ditto effort…then it wouldn’t be the first time dittoes have duplicated Wally. They did so for the Topsiders to pretend to kill, right after they were picked up by the Opabinia Queen and Aaron Marx…

Why shouldnt ditto speak? Sound is just vibration, if they can move they can vibrate, and with so many of them vibrating at different frequencies mimicing any sound should be pretty easy for such a well coordinated colony organism. But how to tell the real Wally? Darn dittos dont even have the decency to be a mirror image of him ;)

When did Wally find the time to learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu?

Thanks for the comments about my drawing of Holly, it’s good to know I still have some drawing skills after a couple of years without drawing anything. I’ll upload a version of Wally soon.
