Messiah, absolutely great work by Handel. Let Fred howl…the rest of the orchestra like it, the owners will get over it. After all, he’s had to listen to them practice for weeks.

I would rather hear Fred “sing” - instead of some performers out there that can’t carry a note! Sing it Fred!

Ever tried to sing “Hallelujah Chorus”? That soprano line is an absolute killer. I used to sit with a recording and the score and repeat the same phrase over and over so it would stick in my head and I could sing it correctly. Been a looooong time, though.

We did the Hallelujah Chorus at Easter. We’re a small choir, maybe 15 people tops (the usual Sunday group is 6…all women). That soprano line is a killer. I nailed it the first two times, but this year I had trouble with the highest ones. If we do it again I may slide down to Alto.

We had a CD recording of a symphony playing the music only. We used that with the choir and it was wonderful. We may be small, but we’re better than a lot of the larger choirs.
