Back in HS (1951-5) we had “study hall” periods between our classes where we supposedly could study and do homework. I found that I could forge my art teacher’s signature and be released- went across the street to a “juke joint” with music and food. That was a MUCH better study envirionment than the required one (with whispering and spit balls etc). I did very well and enjoyed it ;-)
