Those unable to shift positions rapidly as things change on the ground in an “insurgent” war, are using middle age siege tactics. Our OWN independence owes greatly to the rigidity of the Army of George III— critics of the current situation are slow learners.
^^ I have known some very smart people who joined the military. A fellow I knew in university, one of the smartest people I’ve ever known (and I’ve known some very smart people) has made the military his career. He’s a colonel now, and I don’t expect he will stop there. I don’t agree with his politics, but I don’t doubt his intelligence.
I hate powerpoint. In my teaching I use overheads all the time, but powerpoint is much less flexible. And so many people get so caught up in the fancy visual effects that they forget to add any content. I tell my students not to use it.
PJ stated “Microsoft didn’t develop Powerpoint. Powerpoint is a poor copy of Lotus Freelance.”
Close, but no cigar. Actually, PowerPoint was developed by Forethought, Inc, and later PURCHASED by Microsoft.
PJ further stated “All Microsoft Office products were ripped off from Lotus.”
Several of Lotus SmartSuite programs were originally developed by other companies and later purchased by Lotus to compete with Microsoft. WordPro (originally Ami Pro) was purchased from Samna. Lotus Organizer was purchased from the British software company Threadz. Approach and Freeland Graphics were also a purchased by Lotus.

If our strategy there was so good, we’d be already out of there and it would be in peace.
