With all the bleeep talk I forgot to comment on Sam Catchem’s appearance in the audience the other day. Is it me or did he look like a middle-aged Jimmy Olsen gone to seed?
As for today’s disasterpiece, a thought just occurred to me. During the time that passed with rehearsing and getting ready for the play, did Tracy run a background check on Johnny Nothing? How about a credit check? No? So it looks like Tracy will lose both his life and that $100 he let Johnny borrow.
Locher presumably has a reason for setting this in a science museum, as opposed to a regular theater, right? That is to say, some critical plot point is going to hinge on the fact that all of this is occurring in a science museum, yes?
That’s certainly how it would work in any normal comic strip. In Locher land, however, I wouldn’t be surprised if things don’t work that way.

Such brilliant dialogue.

Teresa’s really trying to help Locher out here:

I’m enthralled, but the audience is demanding their money back en masse.

Flight Suit, too bad Locher doesn’t read The Frog Blog.

We must all be on our guard. Or would that be guards?

Macy acts along the same level as he is a cop. And they actually sold tickets to this? Maybe Sam is doing the popcorn trick with Liz(z) to get a rise.

VANDORK Right. Panel 2 I could almost believe he had knuckles.

Panel 3 is about the scariest thing I’ve seen in the comics in ages!

Bill, I believe that’s a typo. Did you mean “What Excrement”?

The Science Museum makeup dept. did a lousy job on Tracy’s eyebrows.

Has Dick Tracy always been left-handed?

The first two panels look just like a scene out of “The Naked Gun”, but not as funny.

When does the murder mystery party start?

I wish my science museum amphitheater had murder mystery parties…the audience looked so festive and stage looks just like a scene from the 1930s…sigh…

Perhaps something in the Science Museum will cause the hideous death of this new Blank. I’m hoping for a death ray donated by Diet Smith myself.
