And, down we go! What adventures await the late Boody in the Egyptian underworld? Will he meet Osiris himself? Will he get back to the Land of the Living?
I get that Justin’s trying to be all-inclusive (which I have no problem with, really), but that means including even the majority religions. Otherwise, it’s just being politically correct (not to mention unrealistic to avoid even mentioning them.)

What makes you think they’re not at the top of the list and just got cut off?
And are you acknowledging that Heaven and Hell are merely myth???

LOL
Quite the contrary, Justin. To me, Heaven and Hell are anything but myths (but that’s not really a fit topic of discussion for this forum, anyway – I don’t want to start an unnecessary jihad over the subject!) ;)
And, to tell you the truth, as soon as I looked at that board again just now, the thought did occur to me that they probably were there, and had simply been cut off. So I apolgize for not giving you enough credit there. Mea maxima culpa!
Legaleagle48: That’s cool.
I just want you to know that the political-correctness thing isn’t as high on my list of priorities as not offending people. With this strip it can sometimes be a delicate tight-rope. If I had included Heaven and Hell I think I might have gotten more negative comments from Judeo-Christians because I would have been putting their religion in a mythological context, what with the river Styx, the multiple choices, and the boat and stuff. I don’t think that’s mentioned in the bible anywhere (but I could be wrong about that).
Anyway, I try to stay away from the active and volatile Judeo-Christian and Muslim beliefs. These followers are touchy about their beliefs and easily offended. I realize that some of them may be offended because they are NOT included, but here I have to assume that they are in the minority of those two choices. Best to just leave it alone.
I’m not here to preach, just amuse and hopefully open people’s minds up just a tad.
Cheers.
@Justin, an elegant solution! I know others have had to stay away from, or even remove, references to living religions in their role-playing games and such when one or both sides were offended.
celeccasaid,
Have they redesigned Pirates of the Carribeaaaaaaahh? I don’t recall a steep drop off of the ride.
PoTC at Disneyland, CA has a steep drop off.
PoTC at The Magic Kingdom, WDW, FL doesn’t.
And they redesigned both of them to include Captain Jack Sparrow.
If there were any point to making the bet, I would bet that anyone who thinks that they know what the afterlife is like is wrong.
(If nothing else, 2 who believe in the same afterlife will have different predictions about what it’s like. Both can’t be right. [grin] )
@NebulousRikulau, that’s why I say we only know this about heaven (with a slight exaggeration): That we do not know what it will be like, but that it will give us perfect satisfaction, and be better than anything we can possibly imagine.

Well, if he doesn’t like it he can use the Star Gate to get out of there.

I noticed the last two on the departures board are backwards from the others: Culture-Afterlife instead of Afterlife-Culture

Thanks, Justin, for showing choices

Yet Heaven and Hell aren’t among the choices.

Hmm, I notice that the connection to Valhalla is delayed… I don’t know what to make of that. Valkyrie on strike? Valkyrie’s horse threw a shoe?
I am enjoying this storyline. I am especially enjoying musing about how Sir Dudley will react to the Egyptian afterlife to rescue Boody.
