Too bad the story isn’t true. It would be a magnificent find. Unfortunately, if the plot goes as I think it will, the library will be lost again, thanks to the obligatory bad guys.

The library will just be hidden as the world isn’t ready for it yet. And a good librarian knows where the “hiding” formula is, too.

You have to cut a 2000 yr old man some slack, too much of that Grecian formula can make women look like men.

Hmm… seems like he was there at the burning of the library in the 5th century BCE. That means he is 2500 years old, not just a paltry 2000. Gotta wonder how he keeps that prostate in line…

Hey, guys. Hypatia was a female mathematician, daughter of Theon of Alexandria. Thus not “himself,” like the ancient one says about the designer of the place.

If the world was wrong about the destruction of the libray at Alexandria, it could also be wrong about the gender and name of Hypatia. Perhaps Hypatios?

Trust the ancient one—he was there. (But maybe remembers it incorrectly? Who knows…)

Yeah, I think the Old Guy is getting to be a bit senile at the start of his third millennium. The Library of Alexandria certainly wasn’t burned down in the 5th c. B.C.; it wasn’t founded until the 3rd c. B.C. and may have been burned down in the 5th c. A.C. (if not at some other date; it’s a very slippery topic). And of course Hypatia is a feminine name, whether of the famous Hypatia or some other woman. But other than those gaffes by the writer, Quatalia’s Formula for super-extended lifespan is kinda interesting…. Or, as pretty Pattty put it, jeepers!

The Library burned more than once over the centuries, by war, riot, and religious mania.
