    And pre-TV and/or no-TV people like Earl kept their hands busy by means of the radio. And before radio, they used the piano, guitar, violin, whatever they musically got their hands on.

    I’m thinking of dumping the satellite dish when I retire and just go with an antennae. 900 stations and nuthin to watch anyway.

    why i like to do crosswords during tv watching. then i mute the ads and read the newspaper during the commercial breaks. which feels normal to me. why doesn’t everyone do this?

    All those trips where she made Earl take her to the fabric store and she bought only ONE color of yarn. You never see her use any other color. Must have gotten quite a bargain on it during one of those trips!
