Mom: You sure made a lot of school projects in preschool. Alice: This year, I achieved a number of breakthroughs in several new media: papier mache, tinfoil, double-wall cardboard, polymer clay and, most interestingly, pure glue. Mom: Next year, consider investigating computer and electronic media. They could expand your creative range, and storing and archiving your work would be a whole lot easier. Alice: I don't do that trendy fad stuff.

I can relate to this with the amount of stuff my daughter has to bring home from pre-school every week, all of which of course must be kept forever.

My mother kept nothing!! She oohed and ahhed when we made it, but our refrigerator was clean and bare on the outside and there were no posters on our walls. We never felt like we were shorted of our due. I don’t miss any of it.

BTW, as I’ve mentioned before, my profile picture was e-crafted by Middle Granddaughter when she was a very old five or a very young six. That helped cut down on the (ahem) junk proliferation.
