When I was a teenager,my date and I once tried to ….ahem….“pilfer” a pepper grinder from an upscale restaurant. When the bill came there was a $72 charge for the pepper mill I took it out of my purse and dropped it on the floor, then we showed the server I didn’t have it…..Phew….never did that again!
Jokes on them. They are served sandwiches on plastic plates and plastic dinnerware, also red solo cups for the drinks. So they can take all they want, less for the recycle bin.
When I ran a restaurant we had a set of hand made pottery mustard pots on the table. Three little pots with the name of each type of mustard and a lid with a little hole for the tiny spoon. About once a month one of the whole sets would go missing….at $80 a pop.
Well I didn’t steal anything but the cafeteria at the post I was stationed in Germany while in the army would let you take a tray away. Well I did and forgot to return them. After a bit I had too many to return in one shot. I ended up borrowing a kids wagon to return them all. There were 76 trays and their assorted plate, bowls, glass cups, knives, forks, and spoons on that wagon. I also spent over a hour washed them as I forgot to rinse off more then a few items. Gravy can make a good glue. And here I was thinking it was my roommates foot odor problem reoccurring. After that I returned the trays the next day.
The way those 2 steal utinsils, dishes, and everything else it’s a wonder they’re allowed to eat out, most restraunts must have their pictures with and evict on entry order.

I must confess to having a spoon stamped “Commonwealth of Pennsylvania” that I took from the high school cafeteria.
