Arlo: I never get email anymore!
Arlo: I'm perfect as it is. I once believed email might save written communication!
Arlo: Now, hardly anyone uses it!
Arlo: What will I do with all my stationary themes?
So true. Everybody posts everything to facebook and expects you to keep up that way, but the timeline feature doesn’t necessarily show everything everybody posts, or it goes wonky and things show up from weeks past for no apparent reason. It has created some confusing comments.
That’s what always happens. Once you learn something, do it well and enjoy it, it becomes obsolete. Better try ‘face book’ or better yet ‘twitter’, Arlo.
I’m perfectly capable of wasting time without relying on Facebook, Twitter, or texting. And any organization that relies solely on those for me to do something has lost me as a participant.
I still get a least 250 emails a day. Mostly spam and now about a third of them are in spanish… that does make it easier to see which ones to delete immediately though. I don’t speak Spanish and have no interest in learning either.
Arlo, this is your chance to be “unique”. Hand written, or typed which is necessary for most of us, letters delivered through snail mail. Start a new thing.
I am amazed at how much personal info people put on FB, to share with 400 “friends”. Most of these are acquaintances or they’ve never met them. It is awkward to read sometimes. It feels like the crazy person in the elevator who starts talking out loud to no one in particular.
I figure I’m way ahead of the curve. I use face. Not facebook or facetime, just the actual face.Much more pleasant to communicate that way.I do use email too. sigh

The spam bots emphatically disagree.

I don’t e-mail much anymore…Almost always Facebook. Seems to cover more territory…Easy access to friends and more discussion…

Too many people use Facebook as a personal diary, reporting every day on things no one else cares about, or wants to know about.

Tweet-ch his own. (I told the guy who said that that I was going to steal it.)

No Facebook here. If I’m writing a letter, it will be to YOU, not the entire world.

On the other hand, posting here goes to the entire world.

I’m sad to see email go, I guess it’s just dealing with the changes.

I will never have a Facebook account, or Tweet. I do love to text though! Never when I’m driving!

“Now, hardly anyone uses it.” As I write this it’s more than 7 years later. Boy you sure don’t have my email account!
