Quite the contrary, my dear Gweedo. I slipped out of the shackles while Rikki was watching Dark Shadows.

Breezy is competent, for sure. Probably a military vet. But Jimmy’s chances still do not look good. —Or, in terms of his profession, the whirlpool, 2-1.

Another red-headed chopper pilot named Breezy? Coincidence? You decide.

Gweedo, you might be right about the ladder, given Jimmy’s tonnage.

Prediction: Jimmy is almost rescued, but then he spots a barge full of gold, and tries to grab some of it.

Here’s hoping Jimmy has a better outcome than Liberty Bell 7…

I never miss Dick Tracy or Rip Haywire. Rip Haywire’s girlfriend & now pregnant wife is a cartoon cute redhead chopper pilot named Breezy. While holding down a job as a firefighter and rescuing his ex-girlfriend from a horrific fire, somehow Rip got involved with a witch and has traveled into another universe & time to save the world. He busts his x (Cobra Carson) out of jail and has been involved in the rescue of Breezy from some evil pirates. He knows the women, but they do not know him. Breezy’s current boyfriend is either a pirate or a prisoner (we don’t know for sure yet). The pirates stole Breezy’s helicopter and she and Rip are currently trying to get it back. The Ripster is reaping havoc with the pirates. Rip refers to them as goons. And Breezy is beginning to fall for Rip after just knowing him for a short time. A few days ago she asked him if he was always that handsome. The writer & artist is Dan Thompson, he’s real creative and has a great sense of humor, with a small but loyal fan base. I cannot recall ant negative comments. I’m thinking that Mike Curtis also reads Rip Haywire daily. The chopper pilot thing may be a coincident … but I’d bet not.

Here in the good old USA water circling the drain travels clockwise … left to right.

breezy’s gonna try the old “lowering the rope ladder at the last second” trick but jimmy is gonna be more weight than he bargained for and he will be forced to cut the ladder to prevent the helicopter from going into the whirlpool

TRACY TAKES A LOOK AT BULLYING

If there’s one person who’s no fan of bullies, it’s DICK TRACY. And the comic strip will take a look at this subject in June. But nobody bullies Dick Tracy, so for help on the subject, the strip’s talent went for help to an 11-year-old and his mother, as well as a home-grown superhero.

“Bullying is a part of life no one wishes to relive, but Joe and I have wanted to take a look at the subject for some time. Tracy would take no guff from a bully, so the sequence features his tweenage granddaughter, Honeymoon. She’s going through a lot of changes in her life and they’ve come to the notice of a couple of her former friends. This leads to the appearance of two of TRACY’S advisors.

Collin Engler is a 11-year-old living close to writer Mike Curtis, and he graciously shared his thoughts and experiences with Curtis. “It’s real and it’s happening everyday in schools and other places.”

Collin has organized an anti-bullying club at his school with the help of his mother Millie. She says, “Collin has taken bad experiences and turned them around into a force for good in his own world and I am very proud of him.” In her secret identity, away from DICK TRACY, Millie is a dedicated schoolteacher. “I want my students to be safe when they come to my classes each day.”

Kurt Kolka is luckier than Collin. He has his own superhero to combat the problem. Kolka is the creator and writer/artist of the the comic strip THE CARDINAL. The Cardinal is a college student by day and flies over the city at night. Fewer super villains and no vast scenes of destruction; the Cardinal is a superhero helping real people with real problems.

Kolka has been chronicling the adventures of the Cardinal for over 25 years and led a massive anti-bullying campaign this past year (2014) resulting in a book and a website. THE CARDINAL is available to read on Gocomics.com. Which, coincidentally, is also the home of DICK TRACY and another character who is no stranger to bullying—Little Orphan Annie.

“Last year, Joe and I did an epic giving Annie an ending to her adventures, which had disappeared from newspapers mid-crisis in 2010. We feel Annie and her cast are part of the Tracy world and we’ve added her to the story as a friend of Honeymoon’s. Annie has dealt with bullies in her own way many times in the original Harold Gray strip, and she’s ready to stand up for her friend Honeymoon.”

The description of the coriolis effect is correct for huge winds and ocean streams. For water flowing out of a sink, the effect is negligible compared to the effect of the shape of the sink, random ripples, or any remaining flow from when the water entered the sink in the first place.

Of course, you always have a 50% chance of being right.

I wonder if it would have any effect on a lake, though. It’d be hard to get a statistically significant number of samples.

Great art work ? it’s broad daylight, ( check the sun on Sam & the chopper pilot’s faces ),..yet why the black midnight shadowing of Dickie Boy ?

Dramatic lighting is a Dick Tracy tradition. Sam and the pilot have light coming from the front and side windows, so there is quite a bit of light coming even from behind them. Tracy and Tellum are in the back seat where they don’t have any windows behind them. If you look at the third panel, you’ll see there are no windows behind the back seat. Any place you have bright directional lighting from the sun, you also have dark shadows on the side away from the sun.

Overlooking for the moment the fact that choppers are so noisy that no one would be audible save for headsets like Breezy has on — though I notice neither Tracy nor Sam do.

If Choo Shooz doesn’t end up sunk he’ll definitely end up grilled.
