“Fast Eddie Gentlemen’s Parlor and Marching Society here, at your service, for the finest in entertainments in MILFord! Place yer bets, place yer bets now … does Tru(e) shut down New Thayer, become the man the scouts are after for two-sport play, and get Boo’s reward in the back of her car? Or does he choke the chicken by shaking off his catcher and gain Yet Another Moralistic Humility Lesson Of Which The Writers Are So Fond?”.“Place yer bets, place yer bets now …”
Paging Dr. Andrews. Is this where Tru becomes a star reliever, or blows out his elbow? Jordy either ran out of steam or got hurt tripping over his own feet on that home run.
The Gilfan is back from the islands, and I’m glad to see the quality of the comments hasn’t slacked a bit. Of course the story line hasn’t developed much in my absence either. And for the record, did you fellows know you can’t actually drive to Hawaii from the mainland?
Hmm, I thought this was an away game but looking back the last few days it never says who’s home or away, and every reference to an inning doesn’t say top or bottom, until P3 today. Hard to tell if this looks like Milford’s field or not, although assuming things would be drawn the same game to game is foolish anyway.
Wow, what a day! The ball in panel 1 is a cut and paste of the Planet Neptune, the catcher in P-2 has a play station for a mitt, and in P-3, Gill forgot to change out of his spandex slacks. It’s a veritable feast for the eyes.
Let’s look at the evidence. Gil is signaling to the bullpen for a reliever, he’s looking towards the outfield. So that means he’s walking from his dugout, which is on the firstbase side. Is the visitor’s dugout always on the firstbase side? It is in the pros, right? If all that is true, Milford is the visitors and Gil is showing signs of dementia and is trying to change pitchers for New Thayer.Anyway, check out the thirdbase dugout. The stands are right behind it, and actually built on top of the dugout. What is this, a semipro field? Milford’s isn’t like that, is it? Am I spending too much time on this? Yes, yes I am. And speaking of spending time, you should spend some time on today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
What about me, scouts? I turn on Mr. All Everything’s “nasty” slider and take him yard, and I am going to pick up the win if Joe Quarterback can get three measly outs. I will gladly forgo college!
As for the home/road question: you can tell by the uniforms. When Milford is at home, they wear red jerseys; on the road they wear black. Today’s are red (check out the Seattle Times comics online for the color version), so this has to be home, which is consistent with Gil making a pitching change in the top of the inning.

I may be wrong but the two silhouettes in the shade look to be forming the shape of a peacock tattoo in P3. Hraaak slap!

That slider couldn’t have been all that nasty.

Gil calls for the righthander. Come off it, Gil, you’ve only got one pitcher warming up out there.

Does GilPa have a second job? It appears he is working for Pops Racer by wearing a grease monkey suit.

You’ll never get a cab with that wave, Gil! Better get home to catch Mimi doing some “landscaping” work around the pool

Looks like Gil’s wearing his lucky a$$eaters slacks. Wore them all State Championship season without getting them cleaned.

If you zoom in on the stands in P3, there appears to be some really crazy stuff going on.
