As a kid, I remember there was a slogan, “Sears has everything”.

Take a long walk off a short Pier 1?

I was just talking to my son about Sears the other day. They were primarily known for their great Craftsman tools and appliances and mowers. Today I am not sure where one is at. They closed the Rocky Mount one and HAven’t looked in Raleigh. Their owner K-Mart? Went in one years ago and it was dark, little on the shelves, and very few people there. Very Sad. Penney’s is at least hanging in there but the quality of their clothes as really gone down. Stafford used to be great, now they shrink like other cheap clothes.

The Sears Christmas “Wish Book” was a highlight of the year when a child.

“A searing or your thoughts” may be something a torturer says.

Consider yourself lucky Red, here in Minnesota we have a Dayton who is incapable of intelligent thought…

One more comment. I knew a train engineer for CSX based in Hamlet NC. His name was really “JC Penney”.
