Why would she call them beasts? For not knowing cursive?
Does anyone else remember when the Palmer Method representative would come into your elementary school classroom to judge your handwriting samples?
No, I don’t remember that but I do remember penmanship class and practicing making making all the swirls and flourishes that cursive is made from.
Letter formation seems to have become “anything goes as long as it’s close.” There’s no accountability for handwriting anymore.
I still write with Cursive; however, finding those writing pads with the wide lines and chunks of imbedded wood is difficult to say the least…
If any of today’s students want to become historians, they’ll have the dickens of a time reading old documents.
