Guy: "...And here's your race info. Have fun, gents!"
Dad: "I just spent $50 to get worn out, filthy and abused"
Brad: "You coulda stayed home and helped mom in the yard"
Mud Run? That course looks more like a Mud Spa …. – Of course, it’s 5K, so that, in itself, is a challenge. And since it’s 5K, and it’s got a “Dormant Volcano(Mt. Mud)” on the way, and for some, could spell ‘disaster’, I guess you could think of it as “Three Mile Island”… – But is Frank going to wear himself out, to ‘build up’ his personal ‘vanity’? – It’s sort of ironic, that they’ll get muddy, “going through the wringer”…….
“A Bowl Of Grueling”“Gotta Hand It To A Gauntlet”“A Double Dose Of Dar(e)ing”“A Crash Course”“Run The Daunting Gauntlet”“Mutual Of ’Oh, Dear!”“Come Back, Shane Pain!”“Cours-ing Through Your ‘Vains’ "“And It’s 3 strikes 5Ks And You’re Out….” (♪)or“Frank’s Got The Runs”
Greg would have crossed the Australian Alps in 1974, on his way from Nowra (on which Quill’s Australian home is pretty obviously based) to Adelaide. So putting the question “Isn’t that where the Alps are?” in Luann’s mother’s mouth yesterday had a certain level of subtle irony to it. The answer to the question “How big are the Australian Alps?” is: not very. They are impressive enough to Australians, because ours is a very old and eroded continent with little by way of impressive mountains — but nobody from anywhere else would find them very big. ;)
@ Three Steps Over Japan by fact you put as option “flat as pancake” I take it you mean height, and not area(3% of the Appalachians) which it is taller than Appalachians and higher than Denver, it actually exist(SouthEast corner of the Australian continent) and thus IT IS BIG
These mud runs are weird. Jon the Army or Marine Corps and they will you do a mud run while yelling at your sorry a55 and setting off artillery simulators.
Geez, Frank is ACTUALLY Going Thru with THIS Madness.
WAIT, a Sec. Maybe, Just MAYBE, Brad is Pushing His Pop to DO this So Old Dad will Kneel Over with a Heart Attack and Brad and Lu Could Inherent The Family Fortune BEFORE Its Thrown AWAY on That Silly Art-House Project!
3So, it looks like another week of Frank…. which could be good…. depending on how the “Mud Run” goes. I am trying to be optimistic… I hope it does not continue last week’s “Dopey Dad” mantra. Let’s see Frank have some fun, or accomplish something surprising for him… WITHOUT the “Doofus Dad” shtick. That would be great!
Oh good, Dad’s going to do it. I feared he was too tired and sore from Brad’s “helpful” workout to make it to the starting line. Betcha he somehow turns out to be a hero!
I honestly hope that span of training from last week was a lot longer in their universe! I’ve done mud runs and it takes a lot of endurance (they are really fun though I swear!) and training required. Best of luck boys!
BTW, I stopped by the weight room this weekend and did 20 squats with 5 lbs in each hand. That was do-able, so upped it to 10lbs in each hand. Only did 5 but that too was do-able. So yes, Lady M, I agree that Frank is going to require a LOT more than just ne day of training.
@comicboyz-Couldn’t use the reply function, for some reason
I’ve been concerned about Frank having a heart attack since this arc started. We were warned that something ‘dramatic’ might happen before Brad and Toni got married. This might be it.
I’m not fully sure if that’s what’s going to happen (Frank suffering from a heart attack) here, but I wonder if it’ll be more so an opportunity for Brad and Frank to “chit chat” a bit, before the race, and maybe “stumble” across the actual scope of the plan Frank has (with TJ) . Maybe a couple of obstacles depicted…
I think I’m feeling sorry for Frank. This does not look good. And why isn’t Nancy present to cheer him on and/or offer first aid?I hope Frank’s heart is healthy….

Looks like the Camp Swampy obstacle course.

I thought there would be more time before the Mud Run. How can Frank be ready for this when he was so exhausted by his first trip to the gym?

>>Since time appears to sometimes run in a non – linear fashion in Luanniverse, this could be several weeks later.<<
