Unless you mispronounce “nothing” quite badly, no, it does not rhyme with “Fresno.”

Since nothing rhymes with Fresno or orange, maybe they could agree to rhyme with each other.

I thought Poop rhymed with Fresno, it certainly does with Bakersfield!

Since everyone seems to be in a poetic mood (fun limerick, Gary Bennett), I think it’s worth reading a short excerpt of a poem from the Poet Laureate himself (which you can find the full version of here, along with several others and a bio of Herrera):

    WAR VOYEURS (an excerpt)

I do not understand why men make war.

Is it because when death is multiple and expanding, thereamong the odd assemblages, arbitrary and unnamed, thereamong the shrivelled mountains, distorted and hollow, thereamong the liquid farms and cities, cold and sallow, thereamong the splintered bones of children, women, men and cattlethere and only there, the eerie head of power is being born?

Alright, you have to remember Gunsmoke in black and white, when Burt Reynolds and Ken Curtis co-stared as Quint Asper (blacksmith) and Festus (Matt Dillon’s sidekick), respectively, but here goes,

The ladies find Quint Asper gorgeousWhen, on Gunsmoke, he works at his forgesBetween he and Festus, no question who best isThey compare just like apples and oranges.

    You are welcome.
