As Mark Twain noted: It is well to get only the knowledge out of an experience that is there. A cat that has sat on a hot stove lid will never sit on a hot stove lid again. The problem is she won’t sit on a cold one either.
@mblase75: GoComics is not my site. I am a user, like you. GoComics has contacted me and asked me to provide links to their archive whenever I post comic strips here. By clicking on these links, we are all helping GoComics to remain viable, which is of benefit to all of us. Nobody is forcing you to click on a link to explore the GoComics archive. But if you try it, it is likely that you will enjoy it, while benefiting GoComics and all of us in the process.
Just want to say that I, and many others, appreciate the extras that Hobbes provides for us. Thank you, Hobbes, for making this an even more enjoyable site!
Hi JP Steve. Thanks for your question. Clicking on the blue links for the Red and Rover, Peanuts, and Calvin and Hobbes strips that I posted today opens the GoComics archive for each of those three links, helping GoComics to generate revenue. Clicking on the three little images of those strips that I posted today opens the strips directly without opening the archive Web pages, and this does not help GoComics.Advertisers pay GoComics based on total “web page impressions,” that is, number of GoComics Web pages that we users open. They also pay GoComics based on number of ads that non-PRO users click on. (PRO users pay the $12 fee and don’t see the ads.)The Mutts comic that I posted today is not a GoComics strip. It comes from a competitor, so clicking on the blue Mutts link does not help GoComics. However, clicking on the blue Mutts link also does not help the competitor, because my link does not go to the competitor’s Web site.

Considering she’s wearing rain gear on a hot summer day, the joke just might be on her.

Please, Hobbes, don’t tell us to click on links to help your site generate revenue. We’ve all got better things to do than help you commit ad fraud.
