British Petroleum is sinking to new depths of incompetence. They have been collecting hair clippings to soak up the oil, apparently one of their idea guys recently saw a performance of Grease.
Funny, I haven’t seen a mass junking of cars. Hmmm? Want gas for their cars but don’t drill in their back yard?Hmmm? They would use Mass Transit, but it’s inconvenient. Hmmm? The new cars don’t pollute, much Hmm? can’t be my fault for putting 30,00+ a year. Hmmm? Let’s blame a big company. Yea! It’s their fault. We didn’t want the stinkin’ oil anyway. Transportation, plastics, pharmaceutical, and our entire way of life. Who needs it? Dirty oil companies! Hmmmmmmmmm?
Even sillier that they want the engineers to build a sandbar further out- as if that will help the real problems with the pollution. What they really need to find is a real way to seal these leaks when they happen.
What bothers me is that BP was allowed to drill in mile deep water, where the pressure was clearly higher than current technology can safely deal with, yet drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf at far safer depths is banned. Apparently drilling is OK if it’s far enough off shore to be out of sight? Like with offshore windmills?
Don’t worry, after the dollar collapses our imports from pretty much everywhere are going to drop like a rock.

I keep thinking of BP’s new ad program where they were promoting “Beyond Performance”
yep, they did that right.
BTW, anyone for a chorus of “Light My Fire”?

For those who have never heard of Rube Goldberg (I hadn’t) think Heath Robinson.
