Metric is a fad that will never catch on. Which is easier to remember, one ounce or 0.0283495231 kilograms? The debate is over and the science settled.
Many years ago I bought some metric measuring cups when I was in Europe in case metric became official here in the U.S. Even though I was raised in the States, I cannot remember the formulae for volume measurements.
A “fad that will never catch on”? Well, it seems that it has “caught on” in practically the whole world…of course, if it’s not used in the US, I guess it has no value…
Imperial is a fad that will never catch on. What’s easier to remember, 43,560.173 square feet in an acre, or 10000 meters in a hectare. Oh, wait, maybe 1,191.57 ounces in a bushel is easier to remember than 1000 millilitres in a litre. If, of course, you can figure out which kind of ounces those are. The debate is over and the science* settled.
Science, of course, is something that doesn’t actually work with imperial measurements … ask the astronauts of Apollo 13. But, science isn’t something that has ever seemed to catch on in the U.S.A. either, so … I guess that explains the one country in the world that still uses imperial measures. *shrug

Jason should invent metric measuring spoons and cups.

I think they already have those. We just don’t see them often in the U.S.

A lot.

Some expert cooks say it is better to weigh ingredients than measure by volume. But, few cooks use scales, so recipes aren’t set up that way.

Is that a “long ton”, “short ton”, or “Metric ton”?

The “fun” is in the calculations, so he had his “fun”. Now, show your common sense and use the measuring cups!

If Jason wants to have some real fun, make half a batch.

32,000. Honest, 16 * 2,000 just isn’t that hard.
