Two pink 6 month old kittens found on the roadside in Ripley WV. Owner found and said her kids dyed them with koolaid. She cut all the fur off of one “because it was under a recliner”. Charged pending. Thank god for people like QueenofAmerica keeping cats away from people like that!
I wouldn’t be surprised if some companies didn’t use that line – “In lieu of a gold watch you will be given the correct time”. So funny!! LadyKat – hope your wedding is going as planned. Thinking of you! Have a wonderful day. Cute pictures – Jack figuring out how much they owe Annie – priceless!
I know I’ve mentioned what an idiot the manager or our PetCO is. Well, it just got worse.
She called Susan last night at 10:30 and said she “forgot” that the floor people were going to strip and wax the floors last night and the fumes were going to be really bad.
We had 3 adults and my baby down there!!! She said she put them all in carriers and they were in her car with her until the fumes were gone! The store closed at 9PM. WHY did she wait until 10:30 to call?? One or both of us would have driven into town and gotten all of them and taken them home.
We’ve never left kittens there and I was hesitant but agreed there would be foot traffic between the time we left and when the store closed, and maybe someone would go back to adopt him today. What could happen in one night? Now we know. Never again will we leave a baby down there – not even overnight.
A bountiful weekend to all. -———I hope all goes well today for LadyKat.-———@QoA: The manager’s behavior is totally inexcusable.-———@bbear: It sounds like the kids need new parents.-———-@Happy 3: I added your GoFundMe page to my Facebook wall. I’m glad that you found a ride for your client. And that the money for the van is increasing.-———-
QueenThe amount of cruelty in the world is staggering. Dyeing a baby with KoolAid and leaving them by the side of the road……….They should be charged with animal abuse. On a brighter note: Our Vancouver Fire Dept, spent more than an hour rescuing a 2 month old kitten from the electrical box in an RV. The owners of the RV heard it mewing,.The Firemen used a laryngealscope to find the baby. The guys named him Flame and the Humane Society bathed him and will operate this morning for a hernia, and then he will be ready for his forever home. But no more hitching rides!
It’s a shame, so few competent people get promoted to management these days. Instead it’s usualy the boss’s buddies, or old college friend, or some sycophantic brown-nosing idiot.Forget the employees who come early, and stay late when asked to. Who show up for every shift scheduled,do their job, don’t complain and make trouble. The situation only gets worse when seniority is involved (union shop) and you have bozo’s who make nothing but trouble, but are protected from firing. Because they abuse their power, and run a little cabal of evil witches who spy on the employees they don’t like trying to get them fired. They tried 3 times this year so far, I fully expect more this upcoming school year. It’s funny how some of us grow up after High School to become happy well-adjusted adults..And some..Never seem to mature past that 8th Grade mentality no matter how old they are.
Queen of all the kittys in the world! glad it worked for you and so glad the adoptions happened as they did! I also agree with others about the idiots who wanted to put an 8 week old kitten outdoors. Too back they aren’t 8 weeks old and their moms wanted to put them outdoors!!Dale and Kristen, so glad Even is doing well enough to have a popsicle, now I know our prayers and his doctors all did their jobs. Thank you Lord for Evans improvement.I am late today but had my son who lives in Indiana stop by last night on their way home. We made them stay here and then fed them a big country breakfast before they left for home. Packed ham on rye sandwiches and filled a styrofoam cooler with juice, water and pop so that they dont have to stop for food again. Hopefully we put enough in there so that my daughter in law wont have to fuss with a meal this evening. They are already tired, and she will just want to get her kids bathed and in bed. I gave her a bottle of my best bubble bath and instructions to use it this evening and I know she will. I have wonderful daughters in law and one terrific son in law. My trip was so great due to my grandkids and their humor and love. They also respect their parents and mind pretty good.I packed away a great store of fantastic memories!Even though I am not feeling Grumpy, I just have to post some pics of our grumpy one, I have been feeling a lack of grumpiness, so here goes -
I talked to Susan a little while ago and the manager had moved the cats back into their wire cages and put them on a big table that she had moved into the area between the entrance/sliding doors and the main part of the store. There were still fumes but they were dissipating. However, heaven forbid she actually clean out the litter boxes!
On a good note, my last little foster was adopted by 2 young women from about 40 miles north of here who had heard that we do great adoptions. They spent over an hour with the kitten, left to discuss it, checked out another adoption group and decided on my baby. YAY! So, I’m free and clear until Monday when I’ll be getting 9 babies.
I got the kitten room all cleaned and disinfected, same with the playpen. Even tho the kittens were healthy, I do it after each batch of fosters. Don’t want any hidden germies getting into new kittens.
Whatever shall I do with myself without extra boxes to clean, kittens to play with, blankets to wash for 2 whole days?
Hey – A_Dream4u – I reckon you’ve got it nailed, there – I’ve recently retired (escaped?) from Further Education in the UK – and I recognise all the types you noted.
@Wet & Soggy: Mymeye continues to get better. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.-——@QoA: Everyone needs a breather. Enjoy your two free days. Have lunch with a friend, go see a movie, go to a spa.-——Have a prosperous weekend my friends.
You know…that Petco Manager deserves to be bounced!!!!! I am totally disgusted….what, does she have an ‘in’ with someone high up? And to boot, 3 top employees have left. And further more !@#$%^&, oh and *&^%$. I feel much better getting that off my chest.
Thank you all for prayers and kind thoughts…they have been heard! Son, younger daughter and I all met at NYU Langone today to visit Evan. He is still in ICU all hooked up to this and that. You cannot tell he has had brain/skull surgery (no bandage) as a remarkable team of medics ‘put him back together’ very well (says Mom, my elder daughter). The right side of his head/face/right eye is swollen and eyes not coordinated properly yet. Told him that everyone at home is asking for him and he asked if it was MAXIE (pooch) and my OLIVER just before we left. Drs. working on getting the right ‘cocktail’ dosage for his ‘insipidus diabetes’ (excessive thirst). SIL says the doctors are just the best he’s ever come across and everyone there is helpful, kind and so nice. Elder daughter driving back from VA and due @8:00 tonight for a few days to take her ‘shift’.
@bbearCharges SHOULD be brought against the mother of those kids who died the kittens with Kool Aid. Hope kittens were not returned to that family. Maybe Jim Jones could whip up a nice batch for that family to drink.
Wet + SoggyYour trip sounded fabulous…and I love hearing about your family too. Glad you are safe and sound back home and that your son, DIL and kids were sent off with fresh start along with your lovingly prepared goodies. They’ll sleep well tonight. Ah yes, you and they will all have glorious memories of your time together.
Thank you W + S for mentioning Evan in your prayer meeting! Seems your and other’s prayers are ‘doing it’. LadyKat will have the ‘wedding of a lifetime’ and Starman’s eyes will continue to heal. And looks as if Happy is on the way to getting fully funded for that wheelchair van too. TC, Graham…thank you…bless you.
