Google “Vlad the Impaler”, & it should be self explanatory.

I did and I still don’t get it. What does Dracula have to do with needlepoint?

I don’t know the Dracula connection, but Vlad was feared because he loved to torture his many victims by impaling them alive to a horrible death. Rodney is not looking forward to being impaled & tortured to death, so is hoping this Vlad is simply into doing needlepoint with much smaller sharp weapons that are not deadly.

@lilmnm—-US comic strip humor can be very subtle sometimes, & if you are not aware of some thing in history or present day happenings, it is very easy to not get the point of the joke in the strip. I have sometimes missed the joke until someone explains it. There is an old saying though, that if a joke has to be explained, it probably wasn’t that funny to begin with.

Rodney clearly has a better grasp of history than the Fink.

Mostly agree. This particular strip is the comic equivalent of jumping off the page and beating you with a blunt object.

LOL. Vlad the Impaler is Dracula. Either someone is a middleschooler or they are pretending to be dumb. being as my 10 year old niece got the references.

@elmoeddieI really thought from our past exchanges you were an adventurer.

If trespassing on lands where permission is not granted constitutes an adventurer, then count me out! In Minnesota, virtually every snowmobile trail is the result of volunteers gaining permission to cross and clearly marking trails not only out of respect for landowners, but the safety of the riders!

I am not sure where you live or ride, but if you ever come to Minnesota, please leave your attitude at home and give respect to those who work hard to make snowmobiling a safe and fun activity for all involved!

The more the victim struggled, the more the spike entered into the body.

Jeepers, this certainly made my skin crawl…

How many people reading this knew that there is an actual Living Heir to the title Count Dracula living in Germany?.From ABC News:http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/WolfFiles/story?id=91657

… The 21st-century Count Dracula is a hometown hero, but a little less remarkable. He’s a 61-year-old retired banker and antiques dealer who is famous for turning his home into a beer garden and vampire museum, featuring “Blood Red” wine, a hearse and coffin museum, and, of course, hundreds of bats..Make sure you pick up a Songs of Dracula CD when you pass through the gift shop..If he’s turned his family legacy into a tourist trap, at least he’s generated some attention and tourism income for depressed Schenkendorf, where he’s known for putting on a cape and getting a laugh. “I don’t wear fangs,” he says. “That’s a little tacky.”…{Note:}Actually, he’d be around 74 now since the news story dates from 2002.

“—NeverEnoughGold’s post had to be rebutted. Review yesterday’s Wizard posts.”.Why do you need to rebut a true statement? You mocked his respect for personal property in favor of your personal pleasure. This is a wee bit thoughtless, bullying and selfish..Ask yourself, “What would Elmo do?”
