Bet we’ll get into Luann’s worries about Quill being with someone named Prudence will occur some other time.

Seems the summer is winding down, as Quill returns to “the Greater Pitts Metropolical-Type Statistical Census-Like Designated Area”. Wonder if somehow he ended up in the “Cash Cab” while he was there.. – On a related note, I’m sure the phrase “Win one for the Gifford” could possibly be bandied about this season by the Giants… and I’m guessing they’ll be donning his initials on their unis for the season… – I’m guessing Lu hugged Quill so tightly, the picture on his shirt turned into a bowl of "applesauce"….

I noticed they’re starting to be drawn a little less like teenagers lately. I wonder if they’re going to continue aging in real time.

I read the whole Prudence storyline as a sign that Luann is maturing to the point where Bernice can easily talk her out of starting drama.

Next thing you know, she’ll be avoiding the drama all on her own!

Yawn. Wake me when Tiffany and Gunther return.

I thought it ended at the point where Luann decides to stay home, and work for a nice trip to New York in December. And then maybe when they “almost”… this phone call was more of an epilogue to me. Until then, I figured that Quill’s trip would pass without incident.

Except for one moment when I thought he’d get some miracle offer to stay in NY. That doesn’t seem like that’s happening, though.

I think the background of the second frame is very important here. Maybe the ‘drama’ at the forthcoming wedding of Toni and Brad is that Luann and Quill beat them to it…

I think that Tiff and Gunth will heat up then Greg will bring back Rosa. Meanwhile we get to meet gorgeous Prudence.

The secret to a story line, any story line, is to develop tension between the characters or between them and their circumstances; this story line is shaping up to have all the tension of an overcooked piece of spaghetti.

“…Or, we may have the story of his trip told to us by the simple action of Luann developing some strange rash…”^And if he’s smart, he’ll “slow down” at the part when he describes his gig, but “speed up” when he “hits the curves”…

I liked the Gunther/Tiffany thing. But it’s a new day and a new story, so here we go.

We’ve been stuck in the dealings of these 7 or 8 people with one another ever since they were in junior high. It’s time to drop some of them from the strip (Bye Bye, Rosa) and replace them with new characters. Let’s meet Prudence.

Greg is more into storylines like ones in Pax TV or Ion and not like ones in MTV or HBO :P

C’mon honey, let’s go someplace quiet where I can interrogate you about Prudence in peace…

What a sweet reunion. I think panel two speaks volumes for both Luann and Quill.

But then I re-examined the first panel. The sign in the background has “Arrivals” pointing to Quill’s word balloon. Does that mean that his trip to NYC was really successful and he has landed a role? And the same sign has “Baggage” pointing to Luann’s word balloon. Does that mean she has now an unnecessary weight to Quill’s career?

Maybe I should stop looking at the panels so closely.

I’ve concluded you are a lousy welder. Everything you do lacks integrity and I wouldn’t ride a tricycle that you repaired. Obviously your best work was years ago and you are living off that reputation. I’m going to trash you on your “Mr. Weld” site. Often. And then I’m going to come back to you for more work. Tricycle, tractors, gym equipment (including punching back mounts) hoping, praying, kneeling before Zod, that you will improve your craft.

Also, if we spend this week being told by Quill about his experiences in NYC, we really won’t know whether to believe him, any more than we know whether to believe Gunther’s ridiculous story about how he accidentally drank half a beer and got hopelessly drunk from it, resulting in his spending a week with the Sun City Senior(ita)s and growing a beard. Any such first -person narrative is likely to be self-serving and omit any details that might make the narrator look bad.

That storyline is over, they agreed to be just friends. Perhaps in ten years when Evans is done using Tiffany as a punching bag will she be allowed to have a relationship with a protagonist.

NO! It’s not over!!!! We didn’t find out what exactly happened in her dorm room!!! NO NO NO! Bring back that story line! NOW! Greg!!!

Luann and Quill for ever and ever and ever…

Flood Greg with emails, texts, etc. BRING BACK TIFFANY AND GUNTHER. DO IT FOR THE NERDS!

I want both Gunther and Tiffany (and for that matter, Luann) to start going out with new people. The pairing up of these half-dozen or so characters is getting tedious. These people are now attending college with thousands of other students. Make friends with some of them, and go on dates!

The strip just got boring again.

I wish Quill moderate success, not megastardom! That would ruin his life. Luann could not deal with all the screaming babes.

It was Karen Evans’ idea to being him back, to show that boy-crazy Luann was actually capable of long-term commitment. Now that that capability has been demonstrated, this could be a good time for Quill to decide that he wants to accept a job acting in Brigadoon or somewhere, and let Luann start dating new people.

I wonder when these two will start calling each other “shmoopie”.

Give it time. I don’t think this story line is finished. The stories just rotate between the main characters – just like on a soap opera.

Another broken storyline…all this build up over New York and Prudence…and it’s over just like that.

Maybe not. This week could be devoted to Quill telling about his experiences in New York. As for the other story lines, I’m sure we’ll get back to them -———————————————————-We had Gunther retelling his adventures..Now we may have Quill doing the same.

As far as I’m concerned, the only way this week’s worth of strips could turn out to be interesting is if Luann is there to pick Quill up and take him home and when they arrive, they run into Tiff and Gunther saying their goodbyes from last week’s events.

Can’t you just enjoy what is given to you instead of complaining about what you do not have? You sound like a spoiled teenager.

Please stop whining. If you don’t like this strip, then draw your own. Then we will see how you handle the critics.

maybe Prudence will turn out to be a ‘trans’ woman or someone with tattoos and pierced lips or something else completely unexpected (i.e. in terms of Luann’s fears and imagination).

“New York Stories”^We’ll see at this point if it’ll be, or not, I guess. Sometimes what Greg does for the other characters, he does differently when it comes to Quill….

This comic strip should not be all ANYONE’S got—not even its creator.

Unscientific research shows that I first saw the Luann comic strip about 5 years go when Tiffany caught my eye. Such a magnificent bimbo: makeup, clothes, air head, the perfect arm candy. To my “like list” I added Puddles, Knute, Crystal, Gunther, and Rosa. Luann, herself, and the rest are boring but you sort of become addicted to the strip anyway.

To get as drunk as Gunther claims to have been, after only one bottle of beer, his body weight must be about 50 pounds.
