When I was in the service, my wife an I “adopted” on of my lieutenants. He just needed some “family.” He’d show up at the house often and we’d feed him. Usually we’d point him at the refrigerator and tell him to help himself.
We said that he was easy to keep, all you had to do was feed him table scraps.
Like the dog in the picture, he was kind of tall and shaggy and still a co-pilot so we nicknamed him, “Wookie.”
