Wait. Did the coupon come in an envelope with no postage, or does the dog food come in an envelope with no postage?
Implication being that the dog had left it in the postbox himself.
I’d say the dog doesn’t want the cheap generic brand so he/she stuck a coupon for the fancy stuff in an envelope for them to find or get out of the mailbox. Dog didn’t have a stamp or understand how that part works.
