Microwaves up in about six (6) minutes and if done correctly all the silk leaves with the husk. Just as good and no boiling water or cranking the grill. Unless of course you are grilling brats anyway!
Yeah, I microwave frozen corn on the cob. I think it’s better than boiling the frozen ears. It’s better than nothing.A long time ago we refered to corn on the cob as “roasting ears.” As it was roasted over hot coals, like a fireplace. I don’t buy the “fresh corn” in supermarkets. Because it ain’t. Longer than a few hours from the stalk, and it’s ruined. If the shuck is wilted or dried, it’s history. Now about grilling brats, is that in reference to Outland this morning?
summer is hot humid days waiting for the sun to go down and for things to cool off. living in the heat is what summer is. waiting for fall winter or spring and enjoying the outdoors until summer comes
Today we have an example of Bill Watterson’s corny humor. Another great strip with Calvin and cobs.I hope everyone has been having a great summer — at least, up until you read this posting…..
many illegal street vendors roast corn or cut up mangos rolled in chili powder in LA. While I would not normally eat food off the street, I will make an exception here…
Corn on the cob is really the only vegetable I don’t like to eat, because it really gets between my teeth. If I can’t avoid it, I’ll usually cut the corn off the cob to eat it. Corn doesn’t have a lot of nutrition anyway. It’s just starch and sugars, mostly, and then you add butter and salt.
Chew corn thoroughly or push the button, pull the chain, there goes whole corn down the drain. I grew corn in the garden for years, and even started it in the basement with tomato plants. I now recommend not doing this.
I hate shoveling snow; I like walking around in flip-flops and shorts. I hate it when the sun sets by 4:30 pm, and depending on your work schedule, you never get to see daylight.Autumn is a beautiful season where I live, but it is just a prelude to cold and darkness.

The sugar dot corn is great, but I hate to heat up the kitchenon a hot day with all that boiling water. I look for cooler days to do it.

If your corn is mushy, you’ve cooked it too long.

I gotta admit, summer corn on the cob is one of life’s greatest pleasures! That’s the only way I really like my corn!

A little late for this, but Hobbes, Calvin’s parents didn’t LET you eat outside, they MADE you for the very reason you are demonstrating.

Ah, keep the mess outside. Hose them off before letting them in.
That is why a good parent always has a picnic table out in the backyard to keep the “slop” out of the kitchen.
