Last time I went to Korea I was surprised to discover 1 TV channel that did nothing but video games 24/7. and video game pro teams setting up in movie theaters where people bought tickets to watch the teams battle. SRO, with lots of cheering and booing. Truely amazing. I understand that this “sport” in coming to America. One of my kids age 31 and half Korean(we made sure that all my kids spoke Korean along with american english is a pro gamer in Korea. Last year he made over $100,000 US
I wouldn’t think video games would be much of a spectator sport…it’s something you do and not something you watch…but, then, I feel that way about sports like golf and tennis, too…

More like a “Battle of the Bands” than an athletic competition.

So, maybe that was Richard Sherman’s defense when he got caught with a positive test for adderall?

It’s as much a sport as poker.

Competitive video games has gone beyond triple digit cash rewards and has gone into five figures for some of the bigger competitions.
