Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for September 06, 2015
Transcript:
Phoebe: I liked that movie! Marigold: It was not very plausible. One could not actually jump over a helicopter on a motorcycle. Phoebe: Movies don't always have to be plausible. Marigold: I suppose that is so. Want to go outside? Phoebe: Lately, outside hasn't seemed that plausible either. Marigold: You are welcome.

Marigold is a mythical mythbuster.

Now I want the MythBusters to test this.

Oh, I should have said which part. The jumping over a motorcycle on a helicopter part. They should test THAT.

LOL, um, I meant jumping over a HELICOPTER on a MOTORCYCLE. (Note to self: drink more coffee before commenting.)

Like after it’s landed and the pilot’s gone away, right?

: D Thank goodness for implausibility, and… Unicorns!

Good job Unicorn.

Phoebe is lucky. Normally you DON’T want to cross over the “rainbow bridge” with your pet.

I’d agree with Marigold, but then she is defeating her own argument…

Phoebe needs a reality check, unicorn style. Hmm, maybe a friend of the unicorn from Texas. A unicorn that is not so willing to let a little girl ride em. Rodeo style! After a few throws, a little magic is needed to keep her firmly seated on his back. Then she stays on even with the triple twist, spinning back flip.
Wait, did I say she was to get a reality check??? Opps.

While I’m not familiar with your references, I’m sure that Ermine was saying what I was thinking — that, beautiful as the illustration is, “crossing the rainbow bridge” is metaphor for a generally unhappy event.

Dana, you could remove the dialog balloons from the last panel and sell it as a poster!

That’s the ultimate reply to plausibility critics: “UNICORN!”

Don’t forget this chase scene from the movie Tomorrow Never Dies.
