    Yes, platform shoes, while they were a fun trend at the time, were not the easiest or safest footwear to walk in.

    I reember pictures of runway models falling because the platform shoes were so tall and heavy. ‘Fashionable’ and expensive workout equipment.

    I remember platform shoes. I always thought they were ridiculous.

    I remember one fad where they had platform shoes with clear plastic heels that had live goldfish in them. I understand that there was a way to remove the heels so you could feed the fish or put it into a regular fish bowl, but there was a running gag that some people never learned how to remove the heal and just had dead fish floating around in their shoes.
