Without benefit of modern science, the ancient Hindus and Buddhists recognized this. “The jewel is in the lotus.” Indeed. In fact, I find the bit about my guts to be a pretty uplifting observation….
Did you know that you’re related to every living thing on this planet? Not just your brothers and sisters, not just your distant cousins, not even just other human beings. You’re also related that random squirrel climbing an oak tree somewhere in India. And to the oak tree. And to the bacteria in that squirrel’s intestines..If anything, an awareness of evolution should make you feel more a part of the universe, not less.
