Dean: Look, this is the fishing stuff my grandad gave me. It was his when he was a kid. Heart: The things in here are so old. All the hooks and hunk are rusty. Heart: Hey! Look! A penny! It's from 1933! and a superman ring! Dean: he said it was a tackle box, but I knew it was really a treasure chest.

When I was 10 years old (about 1950), I found a 1943 copper penny. I knew it was different from the steel pennies, (it wasn’t magnetic). I just kept it in my penny box. I hadn’t been home from the Army but a few days when the headlines in the newspaper reported someone locally finding a 1943 copper penny. I screamed for my little brother. "Where is my 1943 copper penny? In teen pout he replied that he didn’t know, I asked him where my pennies were. He bought a bow and some arrows with them. The penny sold then for $6,000 US, a lot of money. You could buy a new Ford car for $1,200.The last time I knew of the the penny selling, as reported in the local paper, was for $88,000 US.

Numismatics has estimated the 1933 Wheat Penny value at an average of $2, one in certified mint state (MS+) could be worth $35.Although I doubt that the penny is in mint state.

The only coin collecting I do anymore is finding old and weird things in my change. I got a 1925 penny from one of our local fast food joints.

I just love that he considers his grandfather’s old tackle box a treasure chest. You can’t put a price on that.

Watch for a Little Orphan Annie magic decoder ring, it’s the most valuable old toy out there. I believe the last one found went for several million.
