PacoP — It’s called “The Straight Story”, I believe, cos the fellow’s last name was Straight…
It was based on a true story… I never saw the film, but I’d read news stories about the journey…
Mr. Straight was rather elderly, and too disabled to get a driver’s license, so he rode his lawn mower across two midwestern states to make up with his estranged brother, who’d had a stroke.
I sure did take my dad’s for a spin when I was ten. Road it to my best friend’s that was 8 houses down the road. I got in trouble, but she and I still laugh about it

Agnes, lawnmowers need gasoline, which needs money, which you don’t have.

Ah, the 1981 Yard Savage; a classic! Great ride, smooth acceleration, comfortable seat. It really chews up the highway…

“But I do have a soul yearning for freedom.”
Another brilliant quote from Agnes. What a great comic strip.

Could be my Yard Savage, Agnes. I’m not so sure I’d trust it on the road.
