Imagine if one day all the people of the world went outside, looked up, raised one hand… and gave Google the finger.

Well, you can always move to North Korea. Google Earth cannot find you there

Yep, they caught my cousin out in her robe. First time I googled her address and went to street view, there she was.

Camera shots can be deceptive, could be just resting his finger on his nose, in a thinking pose?

Forget Google Earth, worry more about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. We share so much, and often it seems we don’t even stop to think about what we share before we share it.

Somebody has already laid out a big sign near Boise, visible only from satellite, that says “Jesus loves you”. I’m sure there are people who have looked into doing something similar with other sentiments.

I always wondered what the vans with all the antennae and electronics on top were, until I discovered google earth. I wonder why they are unmarked with signage.. I knew engineers in my company that never went out in the field to do measurements for jobs, they measured off of G Earth. That was accurate enough, but they didn’t figure on any changes that occurred in the area since the image was updated. ( No, we didn’t use the “live” feed.)

Our rural areas are notoriously inaccurate on G Earth. Street view puts you in the middle of the road with nothing to see but trees and farmland.

Google earth shows a little koi pond in my backyard too. Even though I filled it in about 4 years ago.

No, not Google Earth but rather the Koi with tiny cameras and frickin’ lasers strapped their backs. Think about that Cartoon Boy!

Well, it is just a single, static shot (in satellite view,) or a series of static shots in street view. And they blur your face. I should know- they blurred mine in two separate locations where the street view car caught me. It’s not like it’s a live camera feed.

Don’t worry about the Russians, or the Chinese, or even Daesh. Google will establish the first universal dictatorship….Say it isn’t so! You can’t get on the web without encountering Google somewhere, somehow, gathering meta-data and your personal data….

I’d be more worried about spying drones over my back yard than google earth, google at least blurs out a few things.

As for privacy, stay offline and you don’t give up that much. Go online and you give up a lot more. I only go online at work, at home I don’t even have internet…gocomics is one of like 3 accounts I have and I really doubt anyone could steal my identity with it.

Now all I need to invent is a personal EMP gun with a narrow directional aim to take down those pesky drones and not knock who the whole neighborhood or harm anything but the drone.

Google Earth chops and changes street views as time goes by. “Drive” down our street and my garage door in open, go by the house and it’s closed and when you get past, turn around, it’s open again. Funny.

The problem with Google Earth, is that they just don’t show enough detail…just think of how many hits they’d get, if you could watch the topless sunbathers at the beach, lol

I used to have Google Earth on my old laptop and it was fascinating.

I’m a private person as I don’t share a lot of my personal info online.

If Google Earth imagery gets any better, pretty soon, we will all be able to laugh at every poor old bald guy with a wispy comb-over or a cheap “rug”, and see everyone scratching their armpits and picking their noses.
