Duke will never retire; he’ll die in mid-scam.

Unless GT plans to rescue Duke from the whiskey-and-smoke amnesia of the third panel, what’s the point in continuing Earl’s delusion? Jeff Redfern’s parents at least tried to “talk” him back to reality. Are both young men just variants on Zipper?

Well, the most egregious recommendation Duke made during the meeting has almost immediately come true. Tony Hayward and his British accent is out, and Bob Dudley and is Mississippi accent is in. Go figure.

    G. T. I think you should take this horace on as your new agent. He has SO many DIFFERENT GREAT ideas. Since you have been such an obvious failure over the last FORTY YEARS you need someone like horace to regain the stature you apparently never had.

He has such an appealing personality. We all just love him and he is so cute. It would make us feel so good inside if you gave him the chance he so obviously deserves.

Oh, yes! Get rid of those terrible masters as soon as you can! They’re really not very nice and they ought to know better.

Rats, I thought he had quit smoking. He can (sometimes) almost seem human without that cig.

@horace: A suggestion – rather than continually ranting on this comment board and the one for La Cucaracha (really?) that neither strip is addressing your pet topic, why don’t you go find one that is. Or if you can’t find one, go draw one yourself and submit it for publication. It might help you unload some of that pent up anger and frustration…

Dern good job there. I hope you keep representing BP. Got a couple of apologies from Congress anyway.

Whether he’s a real Palestinian or a fake, horace maNOOR* clearly seeks attention. The best response to him and steboNobets is to ignore them. Their postings are like Duke’s ads: they won’t stop as long as gullible readers keep noticing them.

Supports apartheid? I believe you are confusing the cartoonist Garry Trudeau with the former Canadien prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. If not, then put some proof or references with your ridiculous accusations. If so, educate yourself a little better before you spout your ignorance to the world.

Garry has blasted Dems, Repubs, corporations, nearly everyone. Who are these “masters” you speak of? Sounds like a wacky “left-wing conspiracy” theory.

Pierre Trudeau did most definitely not support aparthied. He fought – and finally got – the Charter of Rights and Freedoms passed, which is the Canadian version of the American Bill of Rights. Aparthied was very much against his own personal beliefs and philosophy.

My apologies to you and the former Prime Minister, brew. It would take more time than I have to make sense of horace’s comments.

I understand that people are using the word “apartheid” to mean something different from the meaning I know. Could someone tell me what the new meaning is?

How can anyone discuss or understand anything if people constantly take words and use them coyly as euphemisms for something they don’t want to come right out and actually say?

    Rina,

How can you ask anyone commenting on this strip not to imitate GT’s Duke?

    Rina:

    I could be wrong but:

I think It’s in reference to what some perceive to be Israel’s treatment of Palestinians as second class citizens.

Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. = The repression of Black Citizens by the former leadership in South Africa.

BTW Is Earl just being a sneaky snake in the grass, ready to take over from “Pop”?

You did a good piece of detective work yesterday in exposing hor(a)ce manure and steboNobets as frauds.

The above from nobets does look like it was planted in the hope of rousing somebody to defend Obama on issues where he needs no defense.

But you only help validate NOOR’s fraud when you repeat his faulty analogy between the white govt. of South Africa that repressed its own black citizens, and the Israeli govt. that quarantines the citizens of a country with which it’s at war.

The U.S. was guilty of apartheid seventy years ago when it impounded our citizens of Japanese descent. But the Palestinians in Gaza, who aligned themselves with Hamas and voted in a govt. dedicated to Israel’s annihilation, are anything but patriotic citizens of Israel. Contrast them with the American Japanese, many of whom fought against our enemy even while their families were impounded.

I did not intend to validate horace’s claim, only to explain to Rini how he was using the word apartheid. The A=B comment may have seemed to imply validation though.

Horace may be entitled to his opinion on Israel’s behavior, but his denigrating G.T. for not addressing this issue is more or less mindless. He rants on other issue “failures” too.

Pooh, Earl may be like Kim Jong Il’s third son, the ruthless one. Hey, when Duke n Son finish the gulf, maybe they can find work in Pyongyang or Gaza.

    “Duke’s Tunnels and Son”

This could be the segue Horse Manure has been looking for.
