Tbh I´m guessing it will end in half a failure. That she ends up with someone from her own grade, but they stay friends.

Ok so Mystery Girl is a grade older than you. That doesn’t mean you can stop trying. Like that time you fell in love with Sasha Coshen, or Mrs. Godfrey’s niece. Never give up Nate!

She could be younger than Nate but has skipped a grade or two. In that case, she would be smarter (in terms of education) than Nate or Gina.

Must be a different school system than the one I know. Grade school was up to Grade Six and Junior High was Grades 7, 8 and 9. There was a vast gulf between them, and they were not in the same school.

I couldn’t help imagine a “dun dun dahhhhh” drama riff to my mind’s ear when I scanned in the last panel.
