I bagged snipe when I was young. About 2 hours east of Houston, Texas. Wiki Snipe But Louisiana has a bag limit of 8 per person per day now. Louisiana Waterfowl limits When I was very young, the neighborhood kids tried to get me to go on a snipe hunt. I didn’t know why we were hunting snipe in my woods, and they were surprised when I showed up with a shotgun and a couple boxes of shells. Voting links for TopWebComics are in my profile. Thanks, JusSayin PS: GoComics seems to be double posting, so after you post a comment, you can delete the duplicate.

She’s a liability, is she, Holly? As opposed to that head cheese you’re carrying around with you?

There’s a lot of clouds in the background. You may want to hunt for some shelter.

Ok, those of you speculating that Holly wanted Kirbee out of the party, you were right. On the other hand, if Kirbee was the constant butt of snipe hunts, then having her in the party may not be the wisest choice.

Jeez…from female mouse to female dog. If not for Kirbee, Holly would have died in the basement. If not for Kirbee, Holly wouldn’t be with Wally again. If not for Kirbee, they’d all be coal by now.

If Kirbee has been ‘hunting’ in the wasteland for days at a time she has more knowledge of the area than you do, Holly.

Something’s definitely wrong with Holly. The Holly I knew and loved would have seen Kirbee’s apparent helplessness as a reason to include her in the group. We’re talking about the woman who insisted on bringing Clive along even though he needed to be carried and had no use out there. Either Holly’s time in Unity really changed her or she may have got the idea that Kirbee has feelings for Wally.

OK, I feel as clueless as Kirbee right now. What, exactly, is a “snipe hunt” in the sense of what Kirbee was supposed to be on?

It’s upsetting to see Holly, who for the most has been a caring person, turn on Kirbee, who saved her life a couple of times, but She had to have seen the kiss, and it had some of us wonder about whether there was romance behind it.So for Holly, of course she would be worried about competition!

Holly is a bit mare snappy, because she think she is a competition for her in that way that Wally has a heart for weak girls ;) – and she missinterpred this (like much girls do)^^

@PunkTiger: “Snipe hunt” in this sense is a type of prank usually pulled on a newbie and/or gullible camper, where they’re sent out into the woods (usually at night), maybe with a paper bag or pillowcase, and told to capture the mythical "snipe"he others will supposedly be driving their way. After making a bit of noise, the others retire back to the campfire and wait for the victim to catch on and return. Specifics vary, but youget the idea. Common at summer camps, Boy Scout campouts, etc. Nothing to do with the actual snipe bird, except tangentially if the victim is told that the snipe is a small, nocturnal, ground bird.

On one hand, it looks like Holly is not going to be getting over her newfound hatred of lizards anytime soon. On the other hand, the fact that Kirbee would be hunting for days at a time, and still survive… …It’s clear (to everyone else) that Kirbee was an outcast among her people, and all attempts to get rid of her had failed. What makes Holly think that she’ll have any better luck?

This is rather funny…here is Holly acting all survival topside proficient but has only been out just a few weeks herself compared to Wally’s several years.Another rule of survival…..everyone carries supplies…..without Kirbee, Holly will have to carry extra along with Wally and Chic.If Kirbee did wander about up here for snipe hunts she is good at not being seen or caught.

I know a lot of us are speculating that this is motivated at least partially out of jealousy on Holly’s part, buuuut I dunno. Like, maybe I’m just looking at her character the wrong way, but that seems remarkably petty, and really doesn’t seem to jive with what we know about her (plus, I’m still pretty certain she’s unaware of the kiss, let alone suspicious about it). It seems more like she’s still holding some resentment and hatred towards the population of Unity as a whole, Kirbee included (which was most likely REALLY sealed when she found out about the egg screening process). Is it fair? No, but I dunno, I feel like that seems like a bit more of a rational explanation for her attitude here. I could turn out to be totally wrong, though; I guess we’ll just have to see as things develop.

I don’t think she could have seen the kiss but I wonder if she may have smelled it. Pheromones cause our smell to change with our emotions. In “Freefall” Florence (a genetically altered wolf) noted that she could tell a good bit of human emotional states based on smell. We don’t know about anthro mutants but Holly once noted that the place that Marx had brought the group to smelled like Endtown. She might have noted that Kirbee smelled like she was attracted to Wally and felt threatened.

Kirbee’s story today makes me wonder if she was mentally challenged prior to the change. It certainly seems like the other lizards were trying to get rid of her by sending her Topside to “hunt.” Since she was one of them, not an outsider, having her get killed up there would let them think it wasn’t their fault.

This would be funny, except that all the people who played a mean prank on Kirbee are now horribly, agonisingly dead, and she’s alive.Actually, it’s still funny, in a crispy black humour sort of way.

Regardless of Holly’s hatred of lizards or possible jealousy, Kirbee saved her life multiple times. If nothing else Holly OWES Kirbee help and support surviving topside. It is very unbecoming of Holly to act this way and may come back to smack her later. Good Karma, bad Karma.

Umm, I’d like to call people’s attention to the possibility that Holly isn’t feeling antagonism to Kirbee directly. This is more likely just a matter of not wanting to share “her quest” with outsiders. The reason she left Endtown was to get away from people. Up until the meeting with Jim and Sarah, she was more or less in charge of the outing. Now, the focus isn’t on her anymore.

Like many here I was really puzzled by Holly’s lack of charity…or at least gratitude toward poor Kirbee, who as several have noted, has no place to return to. The reader comments are top notch team thinking, so I’m going to try my off base theory: Holly is being afflicted by the same entity, I, that overcame poor Jim at his moment of greatest imbalance. Holly is the one who literally has Jim’s blood in her mouth. Could be a case of ‘malicious Mitoclorians that are filling in corners of Holly’s stressed out mind.

I thought of what the next colony could be like:

It’s cats and mice, with the mice being slaves to the cats. If a mouse either gets too old or refuses to work, they become dinner. To make things worse, female mice are raped in order to ensure a steady supply of workers.

Practically speaking, it doesn’t matter too much if Kirbee’s survival skills are even weaker than Holly’s. As long as Kirbee listens to Wally and does her share of the work, she’ll do fine. Actually, it might be good for the group to have somebody big, there are some times when Kirbee’s size can be a life saver.
