I think the definition for camomile is wrong. That definition should be for camouflages that shows for the army or hunter to cover or hide from the eyes. That doesn’t make any sense.

Chamomile and camonile are indeed alternate spellings, but cam-o-mile and cam-o-meal are also alternate pronunciations. For the record, Merriam-Webster lists the MILE pronunciation first.
