Kat: Did you do last night's homework? Heart: We had homework? Kat: Yeah, of course we did! Weren't you listening to the teacher? Heart: well... Heart: ...after he said, "please turn to page 10 in your math books," everything was a blur.
I have no requiements whatsoever to teach anything. But I substituted in the Special Education classes. Called Resource by the school. Why? Because there were only two other people who would. I am still in touch with a couple of those students who now live out of state and are in their late teens.
Old Texan75I know what you and Nabuquduriuzhur mean. I had 34 graduate hours in education from one of the top ten seminaries in the country. A state teachers college, recently made a university by edict of “the only lege we’ve got”, refused to accept the credits because “we consider that a trade school”. I later found out they are not even accredited to teach their library science courses (but never mention it). It later became an official aggie school. I got my MS from a state university branch (which, being denied an at town branch name, admits that status only under duress – at least they are accredited in all courses)..I can match the coach story. My daughter was sent home for improper clothing because she wore shorts under her dress. The principal liked to look at little girls’ panties. He later became superintendent and has a high school named after him.

Good luck, Heart, on using that as an excuse to the teacher.

Next stop, a pediatrician to get an ADD drug. Not that I agree with that, but it’s the quick-fix that parents are looking for.
