We could solve the energy crisis by harnessing these gas bags. After all their gas is inflammatory.

People generally don’t know the definition of socialism….Socialism is when the means of production are owned and controlled by the government. (Factories, farms, etc.) Merely saying people should cooperate, and work together, doing common sense things, (education, health, etc.) does not make one a socialist…Bernie is not a socialist. Our military runs on a socialist model, but Bernie doesn’t….Bernie is a democratic progressive. Which is good.

BrassOrchid, what? Stealth fanatics? I thought that was the Trilateral Commission!…And being moderate is a hostile action? And from what I have observed, it’s actually deep reflection that breeds moderates..They weigh the pluses and the minuses, and think through the consequences of actions……Then decide what to do and who to vote for…We have to defend ourselves, sure…But one too many senseless wars with way too many senseless killings can kill their appetites for war, for example…….Better to think things through…

Yes, endless gas ahead, all right; but obviously not what you had in mind! More like the hot air kind of gas! Aah, but not to worry; only 13-1/2 months of Election rhetoric to go!

Oh thank goodness that other storyline finished. I wasn’t even reading it anymore I was just seeing that it was part of that storyline and then skipping it. This one seems to be on the same track but at least it’s hope that tomorrow will be a regular strip.

The problem is not with stupid(or even smart) non voters – it is with the stupid voters, particularly the single issue voters.

Last night, I watched one of the candidates make a speech on TV which I guess lasted an hour or so (I didn’t stay up to watch the whole repetitious thing.)The reason his speech was so long was because (I came to realize) he repeated everything he said at least twice — and sometimes three times. Also, I noticed he never once said how he was going to bring these miracles about. He said “I will” and “I can,” and “we will” and “we can” too many times to count. He made ridiculous statements and the 20,000 people who came to eat his every word roared their approval. I despair that we will ever become an intelligent species.

Almost all the candidates I vote for don’t get elected. I figure that makes me smarter than at least 50% of the voters.

Markmoss, heavy regulation can be considered similar to to socialism, but without the government owning and running the farms and businesses, it shouldn’t be called socialism, So no..Sweden is definitely a democratic country….More progressive than socialist, however….Sorry, I taught both English and history…English doesn’t work very well if you change the meanings of words. If we change the meanings of words, nobody can really understand what other people are talking about…Of course, this is besides the traditional lie that conservatives always promote: Democratic voters don’t want to help people, like Jesus would have us do. In their paranoid minds, Democrats are trying toruin the countryWhen you want to make progress, (like fixing roads, spending enough money on education, keeping water clean, fixing the broken justice system, etc.) you are called a progressive…To many dim republicans, that means “liberal” which to them, equals “socialist” and that, in turn, means the same thing to as a communist. Educated republicans know better, but the rest just don’t. They say things by rote…Many are confused by the issues, because they want simple solutions to complex problems…And there just aren’t any, so they blame it on others by slandering them…
