Puhleeeeeeze sleeez, when kids are little you can’t praise them enough. It says you’re happy for them and help them to be happy to. As they grow older, the response is more proportional to their control and skill and maturity. Otherwise, just beat them with pipewrenches before kindergarten.
Little kids are LEARNING. I thought we were past the belief (Victorian, I think) where children were little adults. Once they’ve LEARNED a skill, then you can start with the “do better” routine.
