    Canadas have become lazy (ok, so let’s say that they have adapted.) everything that the geese need is well supplied in all the areas my fellows have noted. My question is why the snow geese have not adapted the same way.Just the mallard duck and the Canada seem to like man’s environment.

    Most of them are on the way south to you guys for the winter. Rural Saskatchewan will be quite and goose poop free till the spring. I’ve seen them at the tip of northern Quebec, covering everything in sight

    Canadian vs. Canada Geese? Maybe we should ask the America Bald Eagle to mediate the issue…. (-c:)-That might lead to a Mexico Standoff.

    We live on a small lake in the spring we have several families of geese settle in to raise their goslings for about 4 months. I can tell you that a goose can waddle 12.5 feet between poops.

    @prfesser

    In Pennsylvania and other states, we have an early goose hunting season. It takes place before the migrant geese are passing through, in order to thin the flocks of resident geese without having too large an impact on the migrants. As others have said, they have adapted to our environment and now are causing problems. Some problems, like the mess, are just cosmetic. But if they are able to transmit avian flu or other bird diseases – well, that’s a different kind of problem. Do your part – get a hunting license and eat more geese!!!

    I recall a recipe for roasted goose on a plank of cedar.it ended with: “…then throw away the goose and eat the plank”.
