Just like us men. We get asked to help temporarily with something the wife does all the time, and suddenly it’s “Why do I have to do all the work around here?” It’s a good thing our wives like us!

The Door Into Summer by Heinlein; no magic required (until we get to the time travel!)

Unless you count Heinlein making an interesting story out of almost no heroine, pbar.

Interesing story re: the title of The Door Into Summer; I’ve read that it was inspired by an experience the Heinleins once had with their cat. One snowy winter it wanted to go outside, and they opened the front door to let it out, but it balked. It then turned aournd and went to the back door. “What does it want?” Mr. Heinlein is supposed to have asked. “It’s looking for the door into summer,” replied his wife.

Becuase she said so.
