    Interesing story re: the title of The Door Into Summer; I’ve read that it was inspired by an experience the Heinleins once had with their cat. One snowy winter it wanted to go outside, and they opened the front door to let it out, but it balked. It then turned aournd and went to the back door. “What does it want?” Mr. Heinlein is supposed to have asked. “It’s looking for the door into summer,” replied his wife.
