Guess I missed out … never had anything for good behavior but the occasional ‘good boy’ from my parents. Good behavior was not (at that time) something to be worked at. It was expected. Bad behavior, on the other hand, was rewarded with anything from swat on the behind to jail time (depending on the degree of severity.)
Gold stars have been replaced by Disney characters and cute dinosaurs and kitty-cats. I think a bald head decorated with gold stars makes a much better statement.
