Why bother to plan dinner? Just have something delivered.

You have to experience the Yang to appreciate the Ying. Human nature needs work to appreciate leisure.

When did Calvin become a reader of newspapers (or much of anything else), or a planner? Or a willing nap-taker?

Calvin is on to something. Studies have shown that workplaces would be more productive if work started around 10 AM rather than 8. And most people just sit around drinking coffee, slowly answering e-mails and trying to wake up for the first few hours anyway.

There is evidence that school would be a better learning experience if it started about 9:00 rather than 8:00. Maybe the Mediterranean cultures have the right idea?

    Remember this, Calvin.

You won’t be in school forever. Wait…. Hang on. How long has Calvin been 6 years old?

This is actually sort of how I live. I work nights, so I go to sleep as soon as I get home, around 7-8 am. I usually wake up whenever I’m no longer tired, anywhere from 3 to 6 pm. I then goof off until it’s time to make dinner. By the time I go to work at night, It’s functionally mid-afternoon. I’m fully awake and ready to go.

Always been my favorite Calvin strip. I have a copy on the wall and always try to live up to its tenets. It is noon and I have had my coffee and am still reading the paper in my pj’s.
