One of the sites I use for work has the strictest password rules. It has to be 8 letters: no more, no less. At least 1 capital letter, one number, AND one symbol. No double-digits or letters. No dates. Not your name or username. No password that you’ve used in the past. AND…it needs to be changed every 90 days.
Once again, I quote: “In theory, there’s no difference between theory and practice, but not in practice.”.Especially true when those promoting a theory don’t even try to examine it for possible flaws, contradictions, or loopholes.
Good passwords are easy to remember. How about this for a password — 0Db,tptprc! (Oh Danny Boy, the pipes the pipes are calling!).
While I don’t use that one myself for anything, it’s how I generally generate my passwords. Or you can just do “Happy Birthday 2 You” or use the method in https://xkcd.com/936/ (aka correcthorsebatterystaple)
How do those super fast password cracking computers get around a slow computer at the victim’s end, or a policy that only accepts a few incorrect passwords before refusing to accept any more tries?

This is why you should write down your passwords (and stow them away for safe keeping).

Given how easy each of those is to guess, I wouldn’t entirely doubt Jason.
